Privacy Policy
Controller
The controller for personal data processed via Registrar.li is Domain Broker LLC, 4539 N 22nd St, Ste N, Phoenix, AZ 85016, United States (Business ID 25006024). Privacy inquiries: [email protected].
Data we process
Registrant, admin and tech contact details (name, organization, postal address, email, phone); account credentials; billing and payment records (card data is handled by our payment processor, not stored by us); support correspondence; and technical logs (IP addresses, DNS query metadata) kept for security and troubleshooting.
Purposes and legal bases
We process data to register and manage domains (performance of contract); to meet registry, tax and record-keeping obligations (legal obligation); to secure our systems and prevent abuse (legitimate interest); and to send product news only where you opt in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
WHOIS and the privacy service
WHOIS privacy is enabled by default on every domain that permits it: public WHOIS/RDAP shows proxy contact data instead of yours. We disclose underlying registrant data only to the registry as required, in response to lawful requests, or under applicable dispute procedures (e.g. UDRP or ccTLD equivalents).
Sharing
Data is shared with the relevant registries (NIC.li, EURid, Red.es, Registro.it, DNS Belgium, nic.at, DNS.PT) to effect registrations; with accredited data-escrow and payment providers; and with authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
We are US-based; European registrations necessarily involve transfers between the EU/EEA, Liechtenstein and the United States. For data subject to the GDPR we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards with our processors.
Retention
Registration data is kept for the life of the domain plus the period required by registry policy and law (typically up to 2 years after deletion); billing records for statutory retention periods; technical logs for a maximum of 13 months.
Your rights
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest; you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Write to [email protected] — we respond within 30 days.
Security and changes
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and audit logging. Material changes to this policy are announced by email and on this page 30 days before taking effect.
